Leptospermum petersonii (lemon scented tea tree) is an evergreen shrub native to Southern Queensland and Northern New South Wales, Australia. It grows to a height of 4m with a spread of 2m and has a graceful stem with slender branches and a lightly textured crown. The leaves are about 3.5cm long, broad, flat and light green in colour with an aromatic lemon scent.

 

Plantation Size

Maria River Plantation - 30 hectares

These trees were planted in 1999 and the plantation is one of the largest of its kind.

 

Production

The production is estimated at 1,000 kg per annum.

 

Quality

The Lemon Scented Tea Tree Oil is manufactured to Australian Standard AS 2782 and International Standards ISO 4730 and ISO 9002.

All shipments are provided with a Certificate of Analysis and Certificate of Pesticide Residue.

 

Technical Data

Extraction: Steam distillation of the leaves and terminal branchlets.

Oil Characteristics: A clear to pale yellow liquid with a sweet, lemony citrus aroma that has a high concentration of citral and citronellal making it ideal for use in flavourings and fragrances as well as providing excellent antimicrobial and insect repellency properties.
